The other night I was wandering around looking for information about Gilbert Grape and I noticed that the Director, Lasse Hallstrom with 2 little marks over the “o”, also did My Life as Dog, so we watched it on Netflix. And we loved it. A systemic film (Swedish with subtitles) – it follows a 12 year old boy who’s mom is really sickly. They send him off to his uncle’s house to spend the summer and give his mom a chance to get better. It doesn’t work, but Ingemar starts to gain some strength. Really sweet, but in a Swedish way – not like American coming of age movies.
